I don’t know where I’m going from here, but I promise it won’t be boring.
— David Bowie

TFW you realize there’s more to life than being comfortable…

Born and raised around Vancouver, Canada, I have always loved to travel but never thought I would leave my home. In 2019, my wanderlust (or should we say Adventurelust — foreshadow alert) got the best of me. After getting my English Language degree (UBC) and diploma in Marketing Communications diploma (BCIT) and hustling for 4 years at a Public Relations agency, I left my beloved job, apartment, friends and family in Vancouver to travel the world on a 6-month trip around the world called #peaceplaypassion — a journey that took me through peace (Rwanda, Uganda for gorilla trekking, Zanzibar, Cape Town), play (Southeast Asia and Australia) and passion (Paris).

From there, everything changed for me. I got a taste of adventure and I was not prepared to settle for a “normal life” (by society’s definition).

I continued travelling the world solo, just me and my backpack, sharing my adventures online — travel blogging, travel writing and editing, and branding on my social media with hashtags such as #yoloctober, #jetsetjanuary, #wakawakabirthday, #wanderlustandwifi, #lifein2point0, #arocky2020, #make2020flouncyagain, #insoulmotion, #yearoftheleopardess, #33andfancyfree💃🏼, meetmeatsunrise✨, #homeiswherethe🦁is, #karmaisa🦁, #euroflounce, etc.

Along the way, I worked as the editor for Daily Hive’s travel channel Mapped, editor for online travel publication World Footprints, and I wrote articles for publications such as the Vancouver Sun, VITA Daily, Fodor’s, Trip Savvy, Adventure.com, Canadian Traveller, and Explore Magazine.. I pitched my butt off and worked with countless brands, collaborating to facilitate my travels. The collaborations progressed from hostel bunk beds and city bike tours to Galapagos cruises and African safaris, opportunities that I never could have dreamed of — this content has always been the backbone and passion of what I do and I love inspiring, inviting, and empowering others to live a life of adventure.

Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.

Now, along with sharing content and partnering with brands, my main focus is my brand/biz/empire Adventurelust. Adventurelust was born to continue inspiring, inviting, and empowering others to live a life of adventure. I host Epic Adventure Meet-Ups from Galapagos cruises to gorilla trekking to safaris and Cape Town adventures. I organize and book trips for my fellow adventurers who are looking for truly incredible experiences, with a focus on the safari industry. I offer a travel content creation course and coaching, and sell travel apparel and gear.

I followed my soul to my spirit city, Cape Town, where I now live in my dream apartment overlooking Lion’s Head and the ocean, and can be fully immersed in the luxury Africa tourism and safari industry. I love visiting my home of Canada throughout the year and travelling Europe and beyond but for me, Cape Town the most magical place in the world and it resonates with my soul unlike anywhere else I’ve ever been — 55+ countries, 6 continents, and counting.

A DREAM written down with a date becomes a GOAL.
A GOAL broken into steps becomes a PLAN.
A PLAN backed by action becomes REALITY.

Living out of my comfort zone and following my passions and dreams has gotten me to a life I never knew existed and never could have dreamed of. I am always open to new opportunities, as the universe has proven to me that you never know where life will take you next.

Whether you’re a brand looking to work together (social media, photography, videography, writing, or media promotion) or an adventurer looking to join one of my epic adventure meet-ups or have me plan your dream trip, let’s connect!
